The Technology Service Providers of Kenya (TESPOK) met with the Ministry of State Department for Devolution to discuss strategies for enhancing digital infrastructure and connectivity across Kenya.
The meeting, attended by Mr. Shalle Mahat Osman, Secretary for Devolution and Intergovernmental Relations, focused on fostering collaboration between the government and private sector to drive technological advancement.
Key priorities included expanding ICT infrastructure and fibre network coverage nationwide, improving the delivery of efficient e-services to citizens, and ensuring universal connectivity. A major goal highlighted was bridging the rural-urban digital divide by providing affordable broadband access to all Kenyans.
Dr. Fiona Asonga, TESPOK’s leader, emphasized the organization’s role in shaping industry policy and supporting county governments in digitizing payment systems. She noted that streamlined payment processes and harmonized wayleave charges would enable Internet Service Providers (ISPs) to improve service delivery and foster stronger partnerships.

Secretary Osman reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to collaborate with TESPOK through the Sector Intergovernmental Forum, underscoring the importance of joint efforts to achieve these goals.
TESPOK expressed its dedication to building a digitally inclusive Kenya and Africa by forging partnerships that promote innovation and equitable access to technology.
